Recipe: Creamy Collagen Coffee
Get out of bed in the morning and reach for a cup of coffee first thing? You're not alone. In fact, on average half the population of Australia and America drink coffee every day and whilst its health benefits are constantly debated far and wide, here's one hack to take that morning addiction and turn it into a healthier addition to your day.
By adding in the key ingredients of Collagen Peptides, high quality fats, Adaptogens and a little spice, not only do you get a deliciously creamy and flavoursome cup of coffee, but you suddenly have a drink that has multiple health benefits and will set your body up for success for the day ahead.
What's so good about it
Collagen has become a major beauty supplement buzzword this year, and for good reason, but it's benefits are not of a superficial level only! Collagen Peptides are a protein consisting of amino acids which have numerous benefits for your joint health, overall gut health, muscle recovery and yes skin, hair and nail growth!
Another popular supplement, Ashwangandha is a super antioxidant Adaptogen that helps to harmonise the body and mind, whilst reducing the effects of stress on the body and boosting the immune system.
Our bodies crave good quality fats for hormonal balance and and brain health. The two quality fats included in this recipe are prime sources to assist in these functions – Grass fed butter is higher in essential nutrients, including Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamins A, D, E and K and antioxidants, whilst Coconut Oil is a saturated fatty acid that can convert into ketones in the liver, which provides you with a quick source of energy.
Cinnamon not only provides some extra delicious flavour to the mix, but also has anti-inflammatory properties, helps boost your metabolism whilst assisting with insulin-resistance and can lower blood-sugar levels. As a powerful antioxidant it's one of the healthiest spices out there!
1 cup freshly brewed coffee
1-2 scoops Collagen Peptides
1-2 Tbsp Grass Fed Butter
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1 Tsp Ashwaganda
1 dash Cinammon
Place all the ingredients into a blender and whizz it up for 60 seconds to make sure everything is combined.
Pour into your favourite mug and sip it down while it's freshly brewed!
